Wylie Airplane Graphics

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

Not too long ago a guy who builds airplanes got the number for No Bones Art from a friend of mine and wanted graphics for his newest creation.  I was surprised to hear him say that he wanted an image of Wylie Coyote on one of the old-style ACME airplane kits.  I was never able to find an image of one so we had to put our heads together and fabricate it from what we can recall of those old cartoons.

As you can see in the pictures, (aside from the fact that the plane looks totally awesome!), Wylie is flying on a poorly constructed ACME box with wings and a tail that are hardly worthy of their description as being so.  Nails are hanging out in several places and it certainly doesn’t appear to be an aircraft that anyone would attempt to actually take flight on.  And of course…..he has that wild look in his eyes that he gets every time he thinks he’s actually found a way to catch Road Runner.  Could this have been captured any better?…  I’ll let you decide.

NMA Knights-Mural

Thursday, January 20th, 2011

This mural was done for the Northside Methodist Academy school gym here in Dothan, AL.  It is 8′ X 12′, airbrushed over an under-base.  The original image of the knight is not a creation by No Bones Art.  We took the original knight and added more character and detail, and then gave him a fitting background.  This mural is being used to replace the former painting that was used to represent NMA school spirit.

No Bones Art can airbrush murals for schools, churches, daycares, businesses, and any other place that feels the need to spruce up the scenery.  Contact us today by phone or email.

Shirt design-”the world of hurt.”

Sunday, November 7th, 2010

This is the most recent shirt design, which is something I’ve been toying around with in my spare time.  As you can see, it consists of the mauled dog which is representative of this company’s foundation, only the dog’s fill space consists only of a tiny portion of one of my drawings.  You can’t tell by looking at it, but the drawing was actually a bull skull broken into tribal art.  In conclusion, this is the “world of hurt” that we’re always hearing about.  I feel like this a great way of expressing it without laying out an image containing blood and guts.  After all, the psychological torture we endure can sometimes weigh far more than any physical infliction of pain.

For NO BONES ART, this a positive symbol.  It provides a visual aspect of where each of us stand in our lives as we experience and overcome adversity.  It is a scar.  It tells a story of wisdom gained and emotions that have been lost along the way.

You can order this shirt design by emailing us from the contact page.  Shirts come in black or white, long sleeve or short sleeve, any size.

Dogblade

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

I know that this is a little on the cheesy side.  A friend of mine asked me to help create a team name and logo for his softball team.  After brainstorming for awhile, I came up with about 8 names that I felt were unique and original.  One of the names was Dogblade—which I’m partial to, and I don’t really know why.  So I played around in Illustrator until I came up with this image.  I kept in mind while designing it that if the logo were to actually be used, it would have to be designed in a way that is screen print-ready.  So the outcome is this clean cut vector image.  The number of layers it would need to be broken down into would depend on how many colors are applied.

Pooh Mural

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

I did this in my one-year-old’s bedroom just before he was born.  His mother was determined to use this theme, and with no objections (HaHa), I spent a week working on it.  Every image is airbrushed and nothing was pre-drawn before the paint was applied.  As a final touch to complete the cartoon appearance, I used a black paint marker to outline the airbrush work on all four walls.  None of these images are of my own creation, (obviously), and this was a very simple wall mural.

No Bones Art Car Tags

Sunday, July 11th, 2010

When I asked Dan at 509 Media to design a car tag for No Bones Art, once again, I’m blown away by the final result.  509 Media has helped this company a lot with web design and advertising.  So far No Bones Art has gotten business cards, car tags, and a web site designed by 509 Media.  The business cards are very similar in appearance to the car tags and the home page of the web site, yet they each have variations that keep them separately unique.  These car tags are not only a strong point in advertising, but a great-looking image available to anyone who is interested in purchasing one for their vehicle.  There will also be more to come with car tag designs available through www.nobonesart.com.
