Hopefully this was the last time I’ll ever have to draw a self-portrait.  This was actually an assignment I had to do in one of my graphic design classes.  I used graphite pencils on everything except the facial hair and eyes, which were done with charcoal.  And since this was a class assignment, as well as self-portrait, I didn’t try to do a lot with the background.  I just needed something to fill up the extra space so I made “folds.”

     This is a relatively small pencil drawing compared to the ones I usually do.  It is only about 6″x8″ and is very detailed for a drawing that size.  As always, the bigger the drawing, the more detail it can have.  And as far as the closeness of the resemblance, those who know me know that’s as close to my mug as it gets…
